We're back, and we're bustin' outta quarantine! Well, not really. We're still social distancing. In fact, this is the first episode we recorded remotely! As such, there are some technical hiccups, the most obvious being that the episode basically got cut in half. But what's left is half of a solid episode of Contextual Deviants, all about 2020's most unfortunately-timed Pixar film, Onward!

It's honestly baffling that we're coming up on our 50th episode. Where did the time go? It seems like only yesterday we were talking about the first miniseries we ever covered (Russian Doll), or the first movie we ever talked about that was still in theaters (Booksmart), or when we figured out that Eighth Grade and Mary Poppins Returns are basically both Die Hard, or when David was trying to cram Wendy's into every episode's intro bit. Remember that stuff?
Well, all of that and a lot more are collected here in this sampler platter of some of the best clips from episodes 31-40! We're so excited to keep this train rolling. It feels like we get a little better every time we record. Someday, we might even be good at it!

2019 was a big year for movies, and a big year for Contextual Deviants, so we wanted to ring in 2020 with a look back at some of the only good things to come out of 2019: The films! Join us on a randomized adventure full of superlatives, gushing about movies we loved, complimenting movies we didn't, and finding every possible opportunity to shout out Florence Pugh. And we recorded this before the Oscar nominations were announced, and we share some Oscar wishes, so come laugh at our failure to predict what the Academy would do!
